Actaea 'Misty
Blue'
This hybrid of a
favorite native woodland perennial was
introduced by our friends at Mt. Cuba Center in
Delaware. It has clumps of finely cut, soft,
bluish-green foliage and produces small clusters
of white flowers in late spring, early summer.
Flowering is followed by red pedicels producing
large, white fruit in autumn, each with a
distinctive black spot. This spot is the reason
the berries are sometimes referred to as "doll's
eyes". Grows 2-3' tall and wide.
