1.) Spray Liquid Fence for deer and fertilize your plants. 2.) Are your grasses and perennials cut back yet? 3.) Look for Sawfly on your Mugo pines. Spray with Sevin if you see any.  More Bodacious Tips


NEPETA - CATMINT / BACK TO PERENNIALS

Nepeta faassennii 'Blue Wonder'

Larger leaves and more flowers than straight N. faassenii. 15-20" stems are loaded with bright green, serrated foliage and a profusion of spiky, dark lavender-blue flowers in summer.

Zones 3-8     

Nepeta faassennii 'Dropmore'

Deep lavender flower spikes, 20-25". Larger than the species form, throughout summer.

Nepeta faassennii 'Walker's Low'

Despite its name, this is not a dwarf cultivar. Gray-green foliage forms an upright mound and is covered with soft lavender-blue flowers in summer. Prolific bloomer. 24-36" tall. 2007 PPA Perennial Plant Of The Year.

Zones 3-8     

Nepeta subsessilis 'Candy Cat'

Large, light pinkish lavender flowers bloom May-Sept. in clusters on 24-30" plants with dark green foliage. Foliage is scented with a hint of mint!
