Secrets to a Deer Resistant Garden

  1. Plant mostly deer resistant plants (see list below).
  2. Spray Liquid Fence Deer Repellant every 2 weeks, starting May 10th until frost, on all non-deer resistant plants.
  3. Spray Liquid Fence Deer Repellant on all plants once a month starting November 15th and going until March 15th.
  4. Buy a backpack sprayer for spraying. They are much quicker and provide better coverage.
  5. Some trees will have lower limbs browsed by deer. Either prune lower limbs or spray them with Liquid Fence Deer Repellant.
  6. Use a 4' tree guard on the trunk of all trees under 5" caliper.
  7. All new growth on non-deer resistant plants must be sprayed with Liquid Fence Deer Repellant every 2 weeks to prevent browsing.
  8. Large populations of deer will feed on some deer resistant plants so additional spraying may be needed.
